The Mechanisms Of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation, the most common sustained arrhythmia in the adult, possesses significant clinical consequences and severe morbidity. However, its electro-physiopathological backgrounds are still controversial. A through understanding of the etiology, predisposing factors and underlying mechanisms of this complex and probably heterogenic-origin arrhythmia, along with the conditions preparing grounds for its occurrence, is mandatory for developing strategies for a successful treatment.
